puppy love.

it's official. I am a crazy dog lady. I never thought it would happen - but I can now confess - I'm crazy about these dogs. i was cleaning out folders on my computer and I was amazed at the number of "dog" pictures I have saved - why did I save?? I have NO idea.... but now I will share! these pups are of the Boston Terrier or French Bull dog varieties.

(I'm sorry not to credit these images... I really don't know where I have collected them from... but please enjoy!) I hope they bring a smile to you.

and of course I MUST add my personal favorites..
MY cuddle monkeys Stella and Gus! 4 years old TODAY!
Happy Birthday Puppers!

I have to add ONE more! post halloween sugar crash - pillow buddies!

happy halloween.

may your hair stand straight & scary all night long. may your stitches not rub off before it is time. may the bolts stay securely attached to the side of your head (until it is time for bed). and may you kiss a handsome green monster after a wild evening of dancing. (monster mash style of course.) enjoy the weekend! Happy Halloween! (me and hubby frankenstein prowlin' around last weekend)
sherie - thanks for the photo - swiped it from your flickr

craftin' halloween

this poor little scary spider has been getting a work out at my house! I found him as a clip art image online - and just could not get enough of him!

I made party invites... (we are actually having TWO parties... and adult cocktail party on Friday, and a family kiddo party on Saturday!) so I used the same invite and just changed the day, time and details for each...

I made a return address label.. this was made with AVERY labels- about 3x4" and filled the front of the envelope nicely!

I made myself a necklace! inspired by the incredible necklaces at Hotcakes Jewelry ... here's my very home-made version! the large circle piece is an old wooden earring that I "modge podged" the spider to.. dug threw my boxes of old beads.. and voila! I'm a scary (yet, well accessorized!) spider lady!

and I made wine tags for my party guests... ( so excited this worked.. and will be sure to make for other themed parties) I printed the spiders random on a 81/2 x 11 sheet of card stock, cut circles with the 3" cutter by Marvy (found at AC moores, or Michaels), and then center cut a smaller circle using the McGill long reach 9/16" circle cutter - then just snipped with scissors so it can be easily slipped on.. each guest can write their name!

cheers! have a wonderful Halloween!

AArrrrrrrrrrr you ready to listen?

ok - so this is a bit out of character for me. but none the less, felt the urge to share. (or should I say "confess"). OK - here goes. I am addicted to the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack. The music is so moody & beautiful- and so highly energetic- perfect for cleaning the house or working in the studio. the dramatic orchestral film score is full of dark, fall-like & spooky overtones.. and you just can't beat a good pirate movie soundtrack with Halloween right around the corner!
take a listen here...

(ps. rumors have it... but details still seem muddled... Pirates 4 will be out in 2011)

fall in central NY

tuesday october 12th 2009.
a prime example of a fall day in central new york.

rain.
wind.
sun.
hail.
blowing leaves.
a few snow flakes.
more rain.
more sun.
a very stormy sky - and "pink" light everywhere.
and then end the day with the most beautiful rainbow i ever did see.

i love it.

(picture taken with my iphone, standing in the middle of the road, while late to drop the kids to a tennis lesson, all while watching an extremely close herd of deer out of the corner of my eye... a very strange day indeed.)

whatch doing?

here's what I've been up to.

first, a custom wallhanging request. a past customer wanted our drooz studio wallhanging brought to life! she requested paper roses, jewels and hanging gems... here it is as a painting.
here it is spruced up! nice, huh!

satin ribbons, painted finials, lots of paper roses and vintage green leaves.

I'm lovin' it!

and... some CHAIR painting... a donation for a local event/breast cancer awareness & fund raiser "Chairity". each volunteer was given an old school chair - I sanded, primed and painted mine flat black. I then added "Ed Hardy" style tattoo designs - The intention is to inspire another, with art, and on the bottom of the chair, to share a name or person's story touched/survivor of cancer. I did mine in honor of ALL mothers who face the fight with cancer.
